SAIC Completes Acquisition of Icon Systems, Inc.

SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., April 21, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Icon Systems, Inc. (Icon) a recognized leader in the design, development and production of state-of-the- art laser-based systems and products for military training and testing.

Icon, with an established reputation as a responsive, innovative company, specializes in design, development and production of quality, rugged, state-of-the-art Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS) and products which promote and enhance warfighter and first responder readiness and effectiveness. Himanshu Parikh, CEO has been working in the military live training domain for the past 21 years and holds six patents in the field of tactical engagement simulation system. Mr. Parikh holds a M.S. Degree in Computer Engineering and significant MBA coursework completed at Pepperdine University.

 

Fritz Healey, President, has been working in the military tactical engagement training systems arena for the last 27 years and has been awarded 6 patents. He holds a M.S. Degree in Engineering culminating in a Master's thesis titled "A Feasibility Study for the Development of a Non-coherent Optical Source for use in MILES".
