Icon Products Showcased at Capitol Hill Demonstration

San Diego, CA--February 8, 2008 – Icon Systems, Inc. (Icon) supported The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation’s (PEO STRI) annual Capitol Hill Demonstration in Washington, D.C., where members of Congress and their staffs had the opportunity to experience military simulations and training devices that prepare our Warfighters for their real world missions, to include deployments to Iraq or Afghanistan.

The Icon products showcased during the event were the Instrumented Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Combat Vehicle System (IMILES CVS) and the Wireless Independent Target System (WITS).  Both systems are being purchased and fielded by PEO STRI to various locations throughout the Army.  The WITS system is currently in use at the Army’s premier live training facilities, the Combat Training Centers.  The IMILES CVS will start fielding to Army installations this summer.  Both systems use wireless technology to make the system easier to use and install in various training applications.  In addition, the IMILES CVS program uses components of the WITS program to lower costs and increase sustainability in the field.

PEO STRI demonstrated its various programs to Congress members and their staffs on Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the Dirksen Auditorium, and on Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Rayburn Foyer.  The demonstrations show a wide range of PEO STRI’s products and capability to support our Warfighters.  Icon is especially proud to have its products selected as part of the PEO STRI team for the demonstration.  CSM Bill Beck, US Army, Retired, an Icon employee from the Orlando Office was one of the approximately 120 government and contract personnel who supported the event.

Historically, PEO STRI’s Capitol Hill Demonstration has attracted more than 700 guests, including Senators, Representatives and their supporting professional and personal staff.  It showcased the importance of supporting the training devices and tools necessary to keep our Armed Forces ready and strong.

Icon has participated in this annual event for the past three years and we are proud of our relationship with PEO STRI and our ultimate user – the Warfighter.

This event was sponsored by Senators Mel Martinez and Bill Nelson, along with Representatives Ric Keller, Tom Feeney, Randy Forbes, and Solomon Ortiz.

Icon Systems Signs Tracer Effects Modification to the MILES-CVS Program

San Diego, CA--August 17, 2007 – Icon Systems today announced that they have signed a modification to their contract with Tec-Masters to provide realistic virtual tracer effects into the primary sights of the Army’s Abrams and Bradley family of combat vehicles in support of the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES)-Combat Vehicle System (CVS) training system.  This capability will give the crews more realistic training by incorporating virtual content into a live training simulation.  Icon will team with D&S Consultants, Inc. (DSCI) to develop engineering prototypes which will be evaluated and tested by users, leading to a production effort.

Icon chose DSCI as sub-contractor for the Tracer Effects modification to the CVS program based on their demonstrated talent in the virtual simulation field.  Himanshu Parikh, Icon’s CEO added, “We are excited to be working with the DSCI team.  I’m confident that our combined experience and dedication will deliver the Warfighter an increased training capability that is critical in today’s challenging, full spectrum operations.  This is a great enhancement to our existing CVS effort.”

“DSCI has a very good working relationship with Icon Systems and we believe that this joint effort will provide the DoD training community with an innovate and comprehensive solution for its virtual injection of simulated effects.  With Icon’s recognized experience in building live training systems and DSCI’s expertise in virtual simulation and optics, this was a natural partnership,” said DSCI’s Chief Executive Officer, Steven A. De Chiaro.

Earlier this year (please see our 5 March 2007 press release) Icon Systems through its partner Tec-Masters, was awarded a contract to provide MILES- CVS to PM TRADE’s Product Manager for Live Training Systems.  MILES CVS will replace older MILES equipment currently used in the Army’s force-on-force training exercises with state-of-the-art equipment providing better training fidelity. MILES CVS will provide an advanced training capability, reduced life cycle support costs and more realistic simulation technology for combat vehicle systems.  The tracer effects modification was an objective requirement for the base MILES-CVS.

Icon Systems wins Best Program and Innovation awards and spot on the Military Training Technology Top 100 List

San Diego, CA--December 6, 2005-San Diego based Icon Systems, Inc., with offices in San Diego, CA and Orlando, FL, has been named to the Military Training Technology "Top 100" List for 2005 and received two awards for its efforts, Best Program and Innovation.

The Top 100 is compiled by Kerrigan Media International and Military Training Technology magazine, and provides a listing of companies that have made a significant impact in the military training industry during the past year.

Military Training Technology invited almost 300 candidates to provide information for the awards and also invited any interested companies to apply. Based on submissions and additional information, the publication's editorial board and a panel of independent experts then selected 100 winners. Companies were selected based on various criteria, which, in part, included sales, end-user feedback, innovations and need for the solution.

Kerrigan cited Icon for its accomplishments in the field of tactical training systems: "Icon Systems continues to bring new ideas to the tactical engagement system arena. As a key partner on the OneTESS team, Icon is bringing its innovation, engineering and manufacturing expertise to allow revolutionary indirect fire realism on future training battlefields. Its implementation of technologies on OneTESS will not only support today’s force on force requirements, but tomorrow’s integrated LVC warfighter’s training and operational battlefield demands.”
The awards were announced in a recent publication of MTT and distributed at last weeks Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) the training industry’s largest national conference.
